Faces of London
Faces of London began as a simple rule: approach one stranger per week for a portrait, in any borough, in any light. Over twelve months it produced something unexpected — not a document of diversity in the easy, catalogue sense, but a record of the private expressions that exist in public space, the look on a person's face in the moment before they've composed themselves for the camera. Most of these photographs were taken within ten minutes of meeting the subject. The brevity shows, and we think that's the point.
